Popular Shoes For Summer

Popular Shoes For Summer

Summer has always been a time for open shoes such as sandals and espadrilles and this summer is no different. Even though the retro looks of the wedge and platform shoes are coming back into vogue, espadrilles are still one of the top fashion looks in shoes this season.

Below are some of the espadrilles available this season:

The Natalia Floral Espadrilles are of various colors with a look derived from ballet. These espadrilles which are brought in from Spain also feature a two and one half inch heel.

The Matiko Denise 2 Metallic Espadrilles combine the metallic look that was popular in the fall and early spring with the classic espadrille to give them a bold new look. These espadrilles feature four inch rope heels adding to their dressy look.

One of the top makers of espadrilles is Born. The Tropicale model has a striped design and features two inch heels and as with all footwear from Born they are built to be comfortable.

Another look that is always in for summer of course is the ever popular sandal. The basic sandal is an easy and comfortable look that goes with nearly anything in casual wear. Let's take a look at some of the dressier styles of sandals.

The Gypsy from Donald Pliner mixes the platform look with four inch plus heels and all the latest color trends such as metallic bronze and denim for a fresh new look.

Jessica Bennett's Cordillia sandals are another wedge heel style that is hot this season. Available in black, brown, and tan these sandals look particularly hot in the tan version.

From Nine West comes the Elsa, platform sling back style sandals with suede uppers in a variety of colors such as black, green, and wine.

For a casual look you can go with the ever popular thong type sandals that are popular with the surfer crowd or the super hot "crocs" which are a lightweight slip on of a rubber like material. The latter feature a construction of anti-microbial and odor resistant material and ergonomic Italian styling. As a bonus for those into boating they also float incase you drop them overboard. As far as the traditional thong sandal or flip flop, these are as popular as ever and are being worn not only on the beach but with virtually everything else from shorts to jeans when going out to dinner and a movie or a night on the town.
